Wild Space Gallery is founded by the Florida Wildlife Corridor Foundation and located in the Warehouse Arts District of St. Petersburg, Florida. As an extension of the Foundation’s mission, Wild Space Gallery advances awareness of conservation issues within the state of Florida. Exhibits rotate regularly and are presented in an open showcase setting. The gallery features the works of locally and nationally renowned artists whose varied stories display an appreciation of nature and its transformative power to connect, heal, and endure. By curating thought-provoking exhibitions, we create a space where art becomes the vessel for engaging, challenging, and inspiring collaborative ideas towards protecting Florida’s wild places.

About the Role:
The Gallery Intern will work closely with our Gallery Director and Curator on a variety of projects and in all aspects of gallery operations. The intern will be present in the gallery during opening hours: Wed-Sat, 2-6pm and at special events.

Position Type:
This is a part-time, in-person paid internship position working 16-20 hours per week at the St. Petersburg gallery. The internship will start immediately and end January 30, 2027.

The Florida Wildlife Corridor Foundation’s Impact Campaigns team develops and implements community-based initiatives that accelerate conservation outcomes across the Florida Wildlife Corridor. Through storytelling, public engagement, volunteer activation, and strategic partnerships, we help connect Floridians to the landscapes, wildlife, and people working to protect the Corridor.

This fall, interns will play a key role in supporting the distribution and engagement strategy surrounding the Foundation’s latest expedition documentary film. Through screenings, community events, stakeholder outreach, and volunteer engagement, interns will help bring Corridor stories to priority communities across Florida while building support for conservation action.

Support the planning and implementation of Florida Wildlife Corridor impact campaigns, including community events, volunteer engagement opportunities, exhibits, and public outreach initiatives.

Assist with the Foundation’s volunteer program, including recruitment, communication, event coordination, and data tracking.

Support event logistics, registration, setup, breakdown, and data collection efforts.

The Foundation’s multimedia design Internship provides prospective interns with an opportunity to explore how text, graphics, animation, audio, and video play an invaluable role in effective storytelling. Throughout the duration of this internship, participants will discover and refine the design process, from ideating and pitching creative concepts to final file hand-offs. The intern will be given the opportunity to work alongside the communications team on a variety of the Foundation’s active or upcoming projects. This work might include branding and logo design, collateral for traditional and new media marketing, merchandise production, editorial layout and large format print projects, and art direction/visual strategy.

The intern will have the opportunity to identify and complete three or more portfolio-ready projects, providing design solutions to real projects the Foundation will complete in the Summer of 2026. Additional opportunities will be available to complete smaller projects dependent upon the interests of the intern and their capacity.

The Multimedia Designer Intern will be expected to work 20 hours per week. Mileage will be reimbursed at the government rate.

Responsibilities:

Weekly travel to the Corridor Foundation’s offices to meet with staff
Attend internal meetings alongside the Creative Director to scope out projects and determine needs
Collaborate in-person and virtually with the communications team to produce and review assets as needed
Review and produce print/digital-ready files, manage and organize asset archives

Qualifications:

Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite software, including Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop or Premiere Pro (experience in alternative design software is excellent, but the intern will be expected to use Adobe)

Conservation Interns will learn about and support activities that accelerate Corridor conservation within urgent and vulnerable focus areas. Interns have the opportunity to learn more about agency programs and policies affecting the Corridor, including conservation opportunities and issues that could impede progress. They will gain experience working with local agencies, conservation organizations, and political leaders through our Mind the Gaps Workshops.

The Conservation Intern will be expected to work a minimum of 20 hours per week, or the required course-specified hours to obtain credit, through a combination of in-person and remote hours.

Responsibilities:

Support the Conservation team in planning and executing upcoming Mind the Gaps workshops.
Assist with outreach and engagement for conservation workshop planning, including coordination with local, regional, and state stakeholders and conservation partners.
Help manage project data, including GIS mapping, Excel spreadsheets, and story map creation, to support conservation initiatives.

Qualifications:

Hands-on experience with GIS, including creating maps, analyzing spatial data, and building story maps.
Strong skills in Excel for data organization and analysis.
Ability to support projects through data management, visualization, and reporting.

The Corridor Foundation hosts Corridor Connect, a bi-annual conference that convenes the diverse voices needed to advance the shared mission of a connected, protected, and restored Florida Wildlife Corridor. Our most recent Summit gathered over 700 participants from more than 80 organizations for three days of solution-building. Between Summits, critical work continues—from organizing data to keeping the community connected and engaged through ongoing collaboration and storytelling.

The Florida Wildlife Corridor Foundation is seeking an intern to support Corridor Connect+, a virtual webinar series, and assist with preparations for the 2027 Corridor Summit. This internship blends writing, research, and storytelling—perfect for someone passionate about conservation and communications. The intern will interview key partners to produce two blog posts per month (500–1,000 words each) that spotlight how organizations align with the Florida Wildlife Corridor vision. Additional responsibilities include content support for the Corridor Connect platform and the opportunity to contribute to a Florida Uncut episode as part of the internship project. This is a hands-on role within a collaborative, mission-driven team working to connect, protect, and restore wild Florida.

The Florida Wildlife Corridor Foundation is looking for an intern to photograph Florida wildlife, landscapes, working lands and recreational opportunities within conservation priority areas (Polk, Volusia, Collier, Leon, Marion, Citrus, Hernando, Orange, Lake, and Osceola Counties) as well as educational installations, Wild Space Gallery exhibits, and murals for use on the Corridor Foundation website, social media, and graphical assets.

The Photography Intern will be expected to work 20 hours per week. Milage will be reimbursed at the government rate.

Weekly travel to various Corridor areas within assigned priority counties
Photograph wildlife, habitats, working lands or recreational areas as discussed with your supervisor
