Watch as Eco-Hero winner Sienna Robertson ventures into Florida’s Wildlife Corridor!
Each year, Zoo Miami and WPLG Local 10 team up to take a Florida middle school student on a trip of a lifetime. This year, Eco-Hero winner 13-year-old Sienna Robertson, ventured with Zoo Miami ambassador Ron Magill and Local 10’s Kristi Kreuger into the Florida Wildlife Corridor to experience some of Florida’s most unique landscapes.
The journey took the Eco-Hero team through the Florida Wildlife Corridor from the Everglades to Florida’s crystal-clear springs to ranchlands and beyond. Along the way, they saw iconic Florida species such as manatees, black bears, and wood storks while getting to know some of the passionate people who are working hard to protect them.
Jason Lauritsen, Florida Wildlife Corridor Foundation Chief Conservation Officer, acted as the Florida Wildlife Corridor ambassador for the Eco Hero team to set up two of the unique experiences that highlight important aspects of the Corridor.
The goal of the Eco Hero program is to help create young environmental ambassadors who will share their passion for Florida’s fragile wildlife with their peers. Eco Hero Wild Florida premiered April 19, 2023 on Local 10. Make sure to check out the full feature linked above!
