Our Strategic Approach

Targeted Advocacy

During every Florida legislative session, we step up to champion the Corridor.

Our Focus:

Securing at least $500 million for Florida Forever and the Rural and Family Lands Protection Program — the annual funding needed to keep pace with Florida’s rapid growth and protect the lands that connect us all.

We do this through presentations during committee weeks, hosting Florida Wildlife Corridor Day at the Capitol, and convening decisionmakers at our events around the state.

Our Advocacy Doesn't stop there

At the county and local level, we work with elected officials and decision-makers to ensure that Corridor compatibility is considered in planning and zoning, protecting critical connections where people live, work, and recreate.

By raising our voices alongside partners, community leaders, and policymakers, we accelerate the protection of critical connections before they’re lost.

Urgent Conservation

There are almost 8 million acres of conservation opportunity areas within the Corridor, and with today’s rapid growth, we focus on protecting the most urgent, vulnerable, and irreplaceable areas (900,000 acres and 14 irreplaceable gaps).  Through collaboration and innovation, we help develop solutions that keep wild Florida connected.

Our Work Includes:

Mind the Gaps Workshops To pinpoint critical priorities and find solutions alongside community landowners and planners
Focused Working Groups Experts tackling emerging challenges
Training Modules and Toolkits To equip community leaders with actionable resources
Targeted Funding Through the Critical Linkages Catalyst Fund and through grants to drive conservation impact
By connecting people, tools, and resources, we empower communities to protect and conserve the Corridor’s most threatened areas, ensuring their ecological value endures for generations to come.
